The Obligatory Update

The problem with plans is that they often don’t work. Confusion reigns. Conflicts occur. We don’t know what we don’t know. We can’t predict. We’re just wrong!

So it is with my plan to have the first three books reviewed by now. And to have “Future Clues” published by now. Heck, I don’t even have “Future Clues” finished (it’s got one page that needs cleaned up – how long can that take? Longer than you could possibly imagine!). Life keeps interfering (and work and moves and car trouble…) But I’m close! I swear!!

So it is with humility that I have delayed publication of “Future Clues” until July. Reviews among the Echelon (have you signed up?) will commence shortly. I’m sure this plan is utterly reliable.

And just when you thought the full scope of what I am trying to do was crystal clear, I go and add another book to the Chaos Trilogy. Which makes it not a trilogy anymore – but a quadrilogy (or for some – a tetralogy). Chaotic indeed!

What is the CIV?

There’s nothing so boring as a writer pontificating on their own work. But the question remains, as we start this CIV series journey, what the heck is the CIV? Not only do I want not to be boring, but also not pedantic. So the last thing I am going to do is define it explicitly. You’ll have to define it for yourself as you read along book by book.

But I thought this video by Russel Brand (@rustyrockets) gives a few hints. Give it a shot. It’s in the spirit of the CIV as I hope you’ll find it.

Russel Brand may just know what the CIV is…

Welcome to the CIV!

Hi! I’m Bob E. Usner, the purveyor of this site, the author of the CIV Series and your guide to the unpredictable mix of all of us and complexity. We’re just getting started!

I’ve been writing some version of the stories that I now call “The CIV Series” for a long time. But only now, are the first three novels (of a planned twenty) ready for review (see Sign Up if you have an interest in being part of CIV Echelon – the review team for the CIV Series).

It’s going to be a fun journey. So I’ll post updates here with links from Twitter, Facebook and other social sites (please see links top right). Thanks for reading!
